Mad Mazda concept Race-inspired two-seater swoops in
"The first pictures of the sensational Furai (Issue 994) revealed what an incredible piece of design the car is. But as we found out, the wild lines are really only half the story. Named after the Japanese phrase for “the sound of the wind”, the two-seat Furai was built by Mazda engineers from a list of dream parts. "

Isn't it the Batmobile?

I think the term "exotic" is the only thing that I can use to describe it! It's like the batmobile on a suicidal amount of steroids! Would love to put it through it's paces.

The Furai has been around awhile and I dig it. It was really nice to see Mazda actually drive a concept, especially at the track instead of just putting it on display.

Totally, it's an original one, not to say special but still a good shot.

I really like it. I wish mazdas were not so under appreciated here. I also wish they would have sold the 3 rotor(20b) motor in something here.

I wouldn't mind putting it through its paces, but I would buy and use a car cover. To me it looks hideous. The Japanese, although innovative as hell, have a way of "losing lock" on reality....

I'm glad to see some of the styling cues creeping into the newest cars from Mazda. Hope it continues.

I guess I'm more a traditionalist, Ferrari GTO's and Aston Martin's still blow my dress up. A Ferrari 250 LM still gets my loins trembling.
I remember when I was building cars... I had given one a very similar name; The "foof" which means literally "breaking stinky wind", in Kazakhstan.

I'll stick with the organic comment. I found myself wanting to water it or squashing it with a fly swatter... Nice for the garden but a car?

So is any of that design functional, or is it all just aesthetic

I dunno but I think it's all ugly. Some elements are making it to their production vehicles.
