Well I was able to spend the last five days with ken. On Friday Jimmy,ken and I sat down and watched Santa buddies that was nice.
But on sat i started getting a ear ache, so on Monday i went to dr. and he said i have fluid and pressure behind the eardrum made me dizzy and very painful. I also got a call from ken, his dr came and said he is working on getting ken moved to a hospital to do the replacement surgery, yes it is possible he won't have the surgery at loma linda now the dr that dr potter had lined up is on vacation so his current dr is trying to find him someone else. Just another set back.
Thanks again Ron for bringing our truck back it is so nice to have it again.

Hopefully they get him lined up with a badass surgeon for the replacement!

Ken is being move on Monday to Cedar Sinai for his next surgery

Hey, that's a great place, so I hear. That's good news. Whens surgery? Will it be the reconstruction surgery?

yes this is were he will have his next surgery. His rm #6005 and he in the north building. they are running test tommarrow and hopefully i will know when the next surgery will be and let everyone know

Ken surgery is scheduled for tuesday 12/15/09. They are going to take his stomach and just move it up and attach it. i will update you with a time as soon as i know. I am with ken this weekend they let me stay the night with him.

Ken is in surgery now and they said it will take 3 to 6 hours. Doctor also said he should be able to be home for christmas.

I got to see ken about 1 hour ago. He is doing ok, in alot of pain he has his own button to administer pain meds and he has a epidural the surgery took 6 1/2 hours. He looks worse now then he did in arizona but thats ok he will get through this one too. He had to have 2 blood transfusion and they made 2 incisions. One day at a time. They think he will be able to come sometime around christmas. What a christmas present that will be.
He will be in ICU for at least 48hours and then we will see from then.

Good to hear Ken made it through surgery ok. One day at a time. I hope Ken does real well and is home and smiling by Christmas morn...

He is doing ok, still in alot of pain. and Still in ICU his bp is low and heart rate high but for the most part he looks good. He sat in a chair for 3 hours which was good.

Well they got ken out of bed at 6am this morning and by 8am he was walking. He sat up 2 diff. times for more than 3 hours. His blood pressure is high and heart rate is slowly going down. When he doesn't move his pain is 3 to 4 when moves or coughs 9 to 10. He should be moved to reg. floor tomorrow.

Ken is now out of ICU and in room 6113. He is doing well. He has his barium test tomorrow to see if he can start having things by mouth.

The results of the barium test came back well. They removed ng. tube and 2 drains from original surgery. Took out the epidural. They are going to have to train him how to swallow all over again. They are having a heart specialist come in and look at him his heart rate is still too high. Other then that he is getting better everyday.
